Bases are sold separately and only available for the planter boxes. To add a base to your planter box, select ‘Yes’ on the base dropdown menu when purchasing your product.
Our planter boxes are great in the garden, on the deck, or even on your balcony. Simply select to add a base and once you receive and assemble your planter box, add a waterproof lining such as a thick plastic sheet to protect the steel for years to come. You may also like to attach some small rubber feet onto the base to elevate it off the ground.

To achieve the rustic look of corten steel, the metal will need to be exposed to various wet and dry weather conditions for a few cycles before developing the rusted surface layer.
As with any weather steel, you will see the corten rustic look come to life after a few wet and dry weather cycles. This is when the steel oxidises and provides the protective rust which protects against corrosion. Once this has developed, corten steel will last decades in the right conditions. Thicker edging and products will have a longer lifespan than the thinner.
Having the right set of tools on hand will make the assembling process a lot more seamless. Here are the tools we recommend you have:
